
Telkom has extended the validity period of Data products. This means customers will now have a longer period in which to utilise their data bundles.
Once-off and recurring data bundles will be extended to the following timelines
Great news is that Telkom has extended the validity period for smaller data bundles with 6-months. Please refer table below for the current vs. the new revised data validity period for once-off All network data bundles:

It must be noted that the validity period for promotional Data such as Night Surfer Data, Free WiFi Data, LIT Video streaming Dat, LIT Music streaming data, Time Based Bundles and data allocated for Instant Messenger applications (WhatsApp, Viber and BBM) will not be extended.
FreeMe Plans
The validity period of All-networks Inclusive Data allocations on FreeMe plans such as 500MB, 1GB, 2GB, 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, 30GB, 50GB, and Unlimited has been extended by one additional month and will expire at the end of two calendar months.

i.e. FreeMe 1GB Inclusive Data allocated on the 1st November will expire on the 31 December.
The extension of Data validity will be applicable to FreeMe Data allocated and shall exclude promotional and campaign data on FreeMe plans.
The validity period of promotional Data on FreeMe such as (Free 2GB Instant Messaging for WhatsApp, Viber and BBM, Free LIT Streaming Music and Video and Telkom Data allocated as promotional) shall remain unchanged and will expire at the end of the current month of allocation.

i.e. Free 2GB Instant Messaging for WhatsApp, Viber and BBM, Free LIT Streaming Music and Video and Telkom Data allocated as promotional allocated on the 1st November will expire on the 30 November.
Any unused data from the Free 2GB Instant Messaging Data, Free LIT Streaming (Music and Video) and promotional / campaign Data allocations shall be forfeited at the end of the current month.


SmartBroadband Wireless Plans

The monthly Inclusive anytime data validity period will expire within two calendar months from the month of allocation. i.e. the inclusive anytime data allocated to your plans on 1 November will expire on 31 December.

The monthly Inclusive night surfer data validity period will expire in one calendar month from the month of allocation. i.e. the inclusive night surfer data allocated to your plans on 1 November will expire on 30 November.

The unused inclusive anytime data on SmartBroadband Wireless LTE/LTE-A plans will roll over to the end of the next calendar month. Rolled over data will be depleted first before the newly allocated inclusive data is used.

The unused inclusive night surfer data on SmartBroadband Wireless LTE/LTE-A plans will not be carried over to the next calendar month. i.e. If you are subscribed to a SmartBroadband Wireless 10GB plan which comes with (10GB Anytime Data + 10GB Night Surfer Data) and only utilised 7GB of your inclusive anytime data and 8GB of your night surfer data the remaining 3GB unused anytime data will be carried over to the following month and the 2GB Night Surfer shall not be carried over. The 3GB anytime data will be consumed and be depleted first before the new monthly inclusive allocated (10GB Anytime Data + 10GB Night Surfer Data) is utilised.

Promotional data and Night Surfer data will not roll over and will not be transferable.
SmartBroadband Wireless Prepaid Plans
- The data validity period for LTE/LTE-A Once Off Anytime data bundles shall be 61 days, i.e. LTE/LTE-A Once-off Anytime bundles will expire 61 days from the date of activation
- The data validity period for LTE/LTE-A Once Off Night Surfer data bundles shall be 31 days, i.e. LTE/LTE-A Once-off Night Surfer bundles will expire 31 days from the date of activation
- For example, a customer who purchase 20GB LTE/LTE-A Once Off data bundles which comes with 20GB Anytime data + 20GB Night Surfer data on 1 November, the Anytime data will expire on 31 December (which is 61 days) and the Night Surfer data shall expire within 31 days from the date of activation.


Telkom Data On the Go Plans

The inclusive data on Telkom Data On the Go plans have a validity period of two calendar months. For example, the inclusive data allocated to your Telkom Data On the Go plan on the 1st of December will expire on the 31st of January.

Any unused inclusive data will be rolled over to the end of the next Calendar month. Rolled over data will be depleted first before the newly allocated inclusive data is used.

For example, if you are subscribed to a Telkom Data On the Go 10GB plan and have only utilised 6GB of your inclusive data. The remaining 4GB unused data shall be carried over to the following month. The 4GB will be consumed and depleted first before the new allotment of 10GB is utilised.

Any rolled over data not consumed within the extended validity period will then be forfeited

The validity period of the Once-Off ad-hoc / Recurring data bundles will be the current month plus an additional two calendar months.

For example, a Once-Off / Recurring 5GB Telkom Data On the Go data bundle purchased on the 20th of November will expire on the 31st of January.

It must be noted that promotional data such as Night Surfer Data, Free Wi-Fi Data will not be extended/carried over.
SmartInternet Plans

The inclusive data on SmartInternet plans has a validity period of two calendar months. For example, the inclusive data allocated to your SmartInternet plan on the 1st of December will expire on the 31st of January.

Any unused inclusive data will be rolled over to the end of the next calendar month. Rolled over data will be depleted first before the newly allocated inclusive data is used. For example, if you are subscribed to a SmartInternet 5GB plan and have only utilised 3GB of your inclusive data. The remaining 2GB unused data shall be carried over to the following month. The 2GB will be consumed and depleted first before the new allocation of 15GB will be utilised.

Any rolled over data not consumed within the extended validity period will then be forfeited

FreeMe Bundles
The FreeMe 500MB – 10GB Bundles have been extended to 61 Days.
The Free Me 150MB and 250MB bundles will remain unchanged and will continue to have a validity period of 14 Days
