All you need to do is make sure that you recharge with R100, whether a single recharge or cumulatively every month to get the R10 000 cover.

With our Value-Added Service Loyalty Funeral Cover, Telkom prepaid customers will be able to qualify for the service at no additional cost and get a cash payment of R10 000 to the nominated beneficiary upon the death of the covered Telkom Prepaid customer.

How do I qualify for the funeral cover?
We’re not just about connecting you instantly. We’re all about connecting people beyond!
The new Telkom Prepaid Loyalty Funeral Cover is a Value-Added Service aimed at Prepaid customers with the exclusion of Post-paid and Hybrid customers.
To qualify for the R10 000 Telkom Loyalty Funeral Cover:
- Subscribers must be South African residents aged between 16 and 75 years.
- You must have a valid South African Identity document.
- Your SIM must be RICA’d.
- You need to opt-in by dialing *180# and selecting Funeral Cover.
- Customers who recharge with R100 or more, either through a single recharge or cumulative recharges within a calendar month will qualify for R10 000 worth of cover for the next calendar month.
- The cover will commence at the beginning of the following month and shall be valid until the end of that month. E.g., if you qualified during October, your insurance is valid from 1st November to 30th November.
